Peter Leach

I’m an RHS accredited Horticulturalist & Plant Nerd, with over 25 years experience in the horticultural industry.

My enthusiasm for the natural world has been a constant throughout my life. I studied Horticulture and Landscape Design at BCA after leaving sixth form in the 1990s, and I have continued to learn and grow ever since. After nearly three decades of hands-on work, I felt compelled to gain formal recognition for my knowledge, so in 2018 I returned to college to complete the RHS Level 2 qualification. I later progressed to achieve the Level 3, further enhancing my technical understanding and plant knowledge.

I have long held the ambition to establish my own gardening business. I believe there is a genuine shortage of skilled and qualified horticultural professionals, and I am passionate about contributing to the future of the industry by offering expertise-led services. My drive to pass on this passion has even inspired my son, who is now studying horticulture himself—something I am incredibly proud of.

Horticulture is more than a job to me—it’s a lifelong vocation. From nurturing plants to nurturing people, I believe strongly in the positive impact our industry can have on both individuals and the environment. Whether I’m managing a garden centre, helping to create award-winning displays at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, collaborating with some of the most talented and passionate people in the industry, or simply sharing plant advice with a client, I feel fortunate to be doing what I love every day.
